The MESACC and the Municipality of Odunpazari hosted a public workshop on The North Africa's Domestic Challenges and Relations with Turkey" in the University's Congress Center on December 22, 2012.
 
Prominent Scholars and experts from the Region and Turkey discussed the nature of domestic issues in the North Africa (al-Maghariba) and the future of the relations between Turkey and the North African countries (namely, Libya, Tunis, and Algeria and Morocco). H.E. Muhammed Fatah el-Naciri, head of the Arab League mission in Ankara, the governer of Eskişehir and the university president, Prof. Dr. Hasan Gönen, attended the workshop along with a strong interest from the media and students.

The Arab Spring and the Global Chances

The MESACC help its first activity with a lecture by Prof. Juan R.I. Cole, Head of 
  • Center for Middle Eastern and North African Studies,

    n Dec. 16, 2011. The event is jointly organized by the Municipality of Odunpazarı, Eskişehir. As prominent historian of the Middle East, he provided a historical background for today's changes in the Arab world as well as relating these events with the current global context.

    Foreign Minister Prof. Ahmet DAVUTOĞLU gave a lecture at Osmangazi University (Mayıs 15, 2011):

    • In cooperation with the Eskişehir Association of Enterpreneurial Industrialists and Businessmen and (EGSİAD), our International Relations Department hosted Mr. Davutoglu in our university to give a public lecture titled “From Proactive Foreign Policy to Proactive Foreign Trade”.     Arab-Turkish Congress of Social Sciences (ATCOSS): December 10-12, 2010

    • Less than a month of the Start of the Arab Spring, our university, Cairo University and Strategic Thinking Institute organized the first Arab-Turkish Congress of Social Sciences (ATCOSS) in Ankara. Minister of Interior Prof. Dr. Beşir Atalay was the keynote speaker in the Congress that hosted more than 150 speakers from the Middle East and around the world.
